JOIN THE POINT 7 CAMPAIGN
Nearly 40 years from the original promise, help us to persuade our politicians to step up the plate and commit to 0,7% of GDP for development.
Violence, poverty and disease are destroying countries, societies, and small communities around the world. Some of the world’s richest cultures are being eroded, and millions of people lack access to education, support for their basic needs, and respect for their human rights. As members of the global community, it is imperative that we get informed, get angry, and get involved: it is time for this senseless deterioration to stop.
How does our conscience allow us to take a back seat on this issue - ten years after the horror of Rwanda, and knowing of the atrocities being committed against innocent civilians in Darfur and northern Uganda – all the while claiming that our peacekeepers and budgets are already overextended?
Denmark, Norway, Netherlands, Luxembourg and Sweden have already hit the 0.7% target. However, many other countries have not.
