New War Child CD: Help!: A Day In The Life

New War Child CD: Help!: A Day In The LifeColdplay, Radiohead, Gorillaz, Chantal Kreviazuk, Raine Maida, Metric and other renowned artists collaborate on the new War Child CD “Help!: A Day In The Life”. Proceeds of the CD will Benefit War Child Canada.

These artists and many others have provided exclusive tracks for the upcoming War Child Canada compilation entitled, Help!: A Day In The Life, to be released by SONY BMG Music (Canada) Inc. on September 5, 2006. Proceeds from the sale of Help!: A Day In The Life will help children affected by war through War Child Canada¹s international humanitarian projects.

The artists featured on Help!: A Day In The Life include: Bedouin Soundclash, Bloc Party, Buck 65, City and Colour, Coldplay, Damien Rice, The Dears, Gorillaz, Jets Overhead, Kaiser Chiefs, Keane, Raine Maida and Chantal Kreviazuk, Emily Haines and James Shaw of Metric, Payolas, Radiohead, Sam Roberts, Surefire and The Weakerthans.

Marco Borsato en Ali B for War Child No1 in the charts!

The single 'Wat zou je doen' by Marco Borsato and rapper Ali B, that came out on 17 september 2004 has been in the charts in Holland on number 1 for 8 weeks! Together they sing a song that was recorded in June, during Borsato concert in Feyenoord Stadium. All proceeds of the single will go to War Child Holland.

Gold record for Dutch 'HOOP!' CD
(WAR CHILD NL)

After being on number 1 in the charts for more than one month the dutch peace cd 'HOOP!' got a gold record for selling more than 40.000 records in the Holland. The cd already raised more than € 200.000 euro for War Child Holland. On july 1st the artists came to the office in Amsterdam and gave the gold record to the War Child crew.

Gold record for Canadian 'Peace Songs' cd

Stars joined War Child Canada backstage at Toronto SARS SkyDome Concert to celebrate the gold record status of ‘Peace Songs’ CD. The CD has generated over CA$100,000 for War Child Canada's work in support of war-affected children.

Keep the Beat CD 2004

The Artists for War Child 2004, Jully Black, Keshia Chante, Esthero, and Graph Nobel, recorded an amazing song called "Life,"! This group of talented, prominent female musicians gathered in the studio in Toronto as in September to record the catchy track in support of War Child Canada's Keep The Beat initiative. Keep The Beat is our nation-wide music fundraiser, in which schools and communities across the continent use music to raise money and awareness for War Child Canada.

The succesful 2003 Friends for War Child concert has now been brought out on DVD.

Bløf Live CD for War Child

The Dutch band Bløf is releasing a special live-concert CD in remembrance of Chris Götte , the drummer of the band who was recently killed in an accident. De whole proceeds of the CD will go to War Child Netherlands. The CD is called Oog in Oog.

The CD is a farewell and a remembrance to both the band and their fans. "We want to do something beautiful for Chris", according to the bandmembers of Bløf. "We can't think of any bigger tribute to him than this record". The CD can already be ordered, but will be released on June 14th 2001 and will be sold until Christmas. Many companies and people who have contributed to the making of the record did so without any payment.

This is not the first time Bløf has worked together with War Child, they also performed at the annual nationwide Liberation Festivals in the Netherlands, in a “one day- one big effort” campaign, flying across the country with a government helicopter and performing live at 6 festivals in one day.

The CD can only be ordered through the website of Bløf.

Oh What A Feeling 3

Oh what a feeling 3Released in celebration of the 35th annual Juno Awards, Oh What A Feeling 3, features some of the best tracks in Canadian music history. War Child Canada is honoured to receive a share of the proceeds to assist in funding its projects worldwide.

The box set includes tracks from Jacksoul, Avril Lavigne and Sum 41 and other notable Canadian artists. Oh What A Feeling 3 is available wherever music is sold

2005 Keep the Beat Single Now Available!

The Keep the Beat single for 2005 is titled "Truth Anthem."

A portion of the proceeds from every CD sold will be donated to War Child Canada.

Written by Hayden Neale of Jacksoul,and performed by Fefe Dobson, ‘Truth Anthem’ is featured on the MuchDance 2005 CD. War Child Canada is extremely grateful to everyone involved in the production of this single.

Musicians participate on War Child Peace CD's

Some of the world's best-known music artists are spending time in the studio for a common cause: war-affected children. In Canada and the Netherlands special Peace CD's will be brought out to support War Child.

Participating artists include David Bowie, George Michael, Paul McCartney, Ronan Keating, Moby, Avril Lavinge, Coldplay, Sheryl Crowe and Brian Adams, Celine Dion, Chantal Kreviazuk, Our Lady Peace and David Usher in Canada and Marco Borsato, Acda & de Munnik, Trijntje Oosterhuis and Van Dik Hout in the Netherlands.

Keep the Beat CD 2003

In October 2002, seven musicians of profoundly different musical genres came together as Artists for War Child. The group was brought together to record the first-ever theme song for War Child Canada's newest project, Keep The Beat, a nation-wide music fundraiser. the track is a unique mixture of style and substance, and draws upon the musical talents of an amazing group of musicians: Jelleestone, Solitair, Esthero, DJ Kemo, Jarvis Church, Keinaan, and Red1 of Rascalz.

DJ’s for War Child

Dutch top DJ's united on a unique 2-CD. All proceeds will go to War Child. Under auspices of the TV music channel TMF the best of Dutch DJ's were brought together for this special dance release for War Child. Featuring: DJ Cross, DJ Embay, Eric E, Klubbheads, Marco V.& Benjamin, DJ Marcello, Michel de Heij, DJ Jean, DJ Jurgen, Mark van Dale, Ronald Molendijk and DJ Tiesto.

BNN & Friends for War Child

On October 26 1998 Dutch TV station BNN has broadcasted a three hour special about War Child. For this special occasion BNN invited famous Dutch artists such as Marco Borsato, Herman Brood, de Kast, Nance, 2 brothers on the 4th floor, Guus Meewis, de Raggende Mannen, Jantje Smit, de Heideroosjes, Edsilia Rombley, Hans van den Burg, Fleurine and many others to record a charity single in aid of War Child.

The single, which is a remake of Billy Joel’s ‘Goodnight Saigon’ reached number 1 in the Dutch chart
